The Coca-Cola Conspiracy

Has anyone noticed that the 2 liter bottles of Coke are now being replaced with 1.5 liters at the grocery store. The prices, however, have remained the same. At the $1.88 the were charging, if you do the math, its a 32% price increase. What the hell?! Their marketing is saying its "more convenient for consumers." Yeah, conveniently ripping us off. I myself will be avoiding the 1.5l as long as possible, but I'm sure Pepsi is going to jump onto the ripoff bandwagon.

Vehicle Shopping

So I started my car search last night. I'm finding it a very painful process. I was looking at a Corolla and I didn't have much time because I was meeting Mr. Desousa of Newark. I couldn't get the guy to give me a price on the car without driving it. There was a whole spiel about why he couldn't tell me what he wanted for the car. Is asking for the price of the item you're trying to buy unreasonable. I can see the migraines comming...

The Demise of the Flying Buritto

Just to summarize my weekend. The day was Saturday and I was all set to go out on my first date with a pretty Italian girl from Queens. My plan was to take her to my favorite eatery in the city, 'The Flying Buritto'. You may have seen it as a location on 'Law and Order' and the movie 'Addicted to Love'. Much to my chagrin, 'The Flying Buritto' was no longer there. Closed! Gone was the quaint little bar/retuarant where velvet elvi lined the walls. Gone was the place I first had Rolling Rock beer. Gone were the best nachos in Manhattan. In its place was a generic Irish pub. Nothing against Irish pubs, I'm half Irish myself, but to lose a place of such charater is regretable. I suppose for a place of that size its a more cost efficient use of the space to concentrate on selling liquor rather than food. Damm the accountants. This is truly a sad loss for New York City.

Opening Day

Well I set up this blog. Whether I'll actually be disciplined enough to use it remains to be seen. We shall see.
